Brad Smith
Brad Smith was born in southern Ontario and worked for the Canadian National Railway, on a rail project in South Africa, and at a variety of jobs including farmer, truck driver, bartender, schoolteacher and roofer. He works as a carpenter when not writing and lives in a farmhouse near the north shore of Lake Erie. His novels are often described as ‘country noir’ and have been published by Doubleday, Penguin, Simon & Schuster and Joffe among others. He has won and been shortlisted for prizes including the Spur Award for Best Western and the Dashiell Hammett Award.
